Why Marrakech

For travellers landing at Casablanca's CMN — Morocco's largest international gateway — Marrakech is the most popular onward leg, reached in roughly three hours by direct train from Casa-Voyageurs or by private road transfer. Once inside the ochre walls you'll find the UNESCO-listed medina, the Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the Koutoubia minaret, Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the Yves Saint Laurent / Majorelle gardens, with the High Atlas, the Agafay stone desert and the Atlantic all within a short drive. Many of our guests fly into Casablanca, spend a morning at the Hassan II Mosque, then continue south to Marrakech the same day.

What to see

Highlights of Marrakech.

01

Jemaa el-Fnaa & the medina

The UNESCO square at dusk and the souks of Semmarine, Mouassine and the dyers' lane. We pair you with a licensed Marrakchi guide on arrival day to lay the map.

02

Bahia Palace & Saadian Tombs

19th-century palace courtyards, zellige tilework and the rediscovered Saadian necropolis behind the Kasbah mosque.

03

Majorelle & YSL Museum

Cobalt-blue garden bought by Yves Saint Laurent in 1980, plus the museum charting his Marrakech years.

04

Agafay desert day trip

Stone desert 40 minutes from the city — camel rides, dune-buggies, sunset dinners at lantern-lit camps.

Ourika & Atlas foothills

An hour into the mountains: Berber villages, waterfalls, lunch beside the river.

FAQ

Marrakechcommon questions.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?+

Three full days covers the medina, the major monuments and one half-day excursion (Agafay or Ourika). Four lets you add a slower riad morning or a hammam ritual.

Is Marrakech safe for tourists?+

Yes — the medina is policed and well-trafficked. Standard urban precautions apply: keep valuables out of sight in crowded souks and use registered taxis or a private driver after dark.

How do I get from Casablanca to Marrakech?+

It is one of Morocco's easiest legs: frequent trains run from Casa-Voyageurs to Marrakech in about three hours, or we arrange a private transfer with a stop along the way. Casablanca's CMN airport even has its own station, so you can step off a long-haul flight and be in Marrakech by evening.
