Overview
A full-day trip south to El Jadida — the UNESCO-listed Portuguese fortified town of Mazagan, famous for its eerie underground cistern with mirror-still water and shafts of light.
An hour and a half down the Atlantic coast from Casablanca lies El Jadida, founded by the Portuguese in 1514 as Mazagan and now a UNESCO World Heritage site — one of the best-preserved European fortified ports in Morocco. Its star is the Portuguese Cistern: a vaulted underground chamber where a thin film of water turns the columns and a single shaft of light into a perfect mirror, a scene Orson Welles filmed for his 'Othello'.
With a private driver-guide you walk the ramparts and bastions of the old citadel, descend into the cistern, see the Portuguese church and the old cisternal town, and have a fresh-fish lunch by the working fishing harbour before driving back to Casablanca.

Yes. Every itinerary is a starting point. Add a day, swap a riad, change the start city — we'll re-quote in 24 hours and lock the price in writing before any deposit.
How fit do I need to be?
Easy. Light walking on medina cobblestones, plus optional activities you can opt in or out of on the day.
