Overview

A half-day on foot through Casablanca's original walled medina and the elegant 1920s Habous quarter — the 'New Medina' built in Moorish style — with its arcades, bakeries and craft shops.

Casablanca has two medinas. The old medina by the port is the city's original 19th-century walled core — narrow, lived-in, free of tourist polish. The Quartier des Habous, built by the French in the 1920s and 30s, is the elegant counterpoint: a planned 'New Medina' of arched arcades, ordered streets, olive and book sellers, and the Mahkama du Pacha courthouse with its Hispano-Moorish ceilings.

We walk both in a single relaxed morning with a guide, comparing the organic old town with the designed Habous, stopping at the famous Bennis Habous pastry shop, the royal palace gates and the craft workshops where you can watch brass and leather work.

Yes. Every itinerary is a starting point. Add a day, swap a riad, change the start city — we'll re-quote in 24 hours and lock the price in writing before any deposit.

How fit do I need to be?

Easy. Light walking on medina cobblestones, plus optional activities you can opt in or out of on the day.
